"I just returned from Gery Deer's
whip class, and I wanted to say how pleased we were. I'm a total beginner and
was getting frustrated trying to learn from the Whipcracking Made "simple"
tapes. There's nothing in my immediate area that I could find (SE Michigan),
until I found Gery's class. He both really knows his stuff, in fact he even gave
us a two handed demonstration with a stock whip in one hand and a bullwhip in
the other of different lengths to show that you don't
A real bargain for the price, and
I'd strongly recommend that anyone within striking distance of Southern Ohio
(he's about midway between Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati) who wants to either
learn or improve their techniques strongly consider taking his class. While I
had to drive almost 250 miles to get there and spent several days in a motel, it
was well worth it.
Dave Villers - Fairborn, Ohio
"I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend. I learned a lot of new things--more than I realized I was going to. I have been bitten by the bug, and it's been hard not to think about the weekend. Everyone involved was great. It was nice to see some of your students stop in too. It was encouragement for someone like me who has never given these things much thought. It's very clear by your words and actions that you have a real passion for this. Thanks again.
Edwin Voskamp - Ann Arbor, Michigan
"I attended a bullwhip handling seminar given by Gery L. Deer in Ann Arbor, organized by a friend of mine who had seen Gery perform at a local Science Fiction convention. Since I have practiced diligently and acquired two more whips: it is boatloads of fun!"

"Incredible" Bob Herzog - WKRC TV - Cincinnati, Ohio
"I held a tightly-folded newspaper out at arm's length. I never felt an impact and everyone thought he'd missed, but when the paper was unfolded, bits of scrap fluttered down to reveal the number "31" (in honor of the official title "31 Flavors of ConFusion") incised in the page. Plus, I got a little silver bullwhip charm for being a good sport! It was a very cool trick!" Jacqueline Carey - SciFi-Fantasy author
